LUCKNOW: If you have lowered your guard against Covid-19, you might want to rethink your stance and act again as more than 100 Covid cases have so far been reported from Aliganj in a period of about 30 days.
The locality makes up for almost a quarter of the total number of Covid cases reported in the city in the period between April 20 and May 17.
According to data, of the total 445 cases in the time period, Aliganj has had 110 patients between April 20 and May 17, which is almost 25% of the total.
Chinhat with 80 cases follows in second place. Indiranagar at 50 cases is at third place and Alambagh at 48 cases follows close.
According to the office of the chief medical officer (CMO), all areas which are covered under the urban community healthcare centre (UCHC) of Aliganj come under the locality.
“The maximum cases from Aliganj UCHC have been reported because Aliganj is the largest UCHC area covering a large population. It includes Nishatganj, Mahanagar, New Hyderabad, Jankipuram, IIM Road and even some urban parts of Bakshi Ka Talaab,” said CMO information officer Yogesh Raghuvanshi.
While areas under UCHC Aliganj have not been individually tagged as containment zones, Raghuvanshi said that containment activity by the CMO office, district administration and Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) continues on an everyday basis even with a single case.
